| I'm using anthill for continuous integration. I would like to
setup up real traffic light that reflects the state of the build.
Green -success.
Yellow -building.
Red -build failed.
Anybody know where I can get a traffic light that would be easy to
connect to a computer through a USB/Serial Port?
I like the Ambient Orb but it kinda pricey and not easy to
integrate with.

Well, you could go to:
http://trafficlights.com/
I have no experience with them, just did a quick google search because I
thought the idea was interesting.

Well, the real things are probably a bit harder to integrate with and a
little more pricey. There was a guy at XP/Agile Universe 2003 displaying
the Ambient Orb and talking about how he got it working. Didn't sound
too terribly difficult. There's probably a link somewhere... Google
might help here as well.
If you want cheaper, you can probably find parts in an electronic
hobyist kit to build your own, if you are so inclined. Or, you could try
model railroad shops if you don't mind a miniature, but again I would
expect some work to integrate.

See http://www.c2.com/cgi/wiki?AmbientOrb
$150 for the orb, plus something per month for the paging service, or
$40 for the developer's kit that will enable you to control it with a
serial port.
Or see http://www.c2.com/cgi/wiki?ColorUsbStatusLamp
for a $70 colored light that has easier and more direct controls.
(...but doesn't look nearly as . ;-)

| I really like the Ambient Orb, however I'm still trying to convince
myself that it's worth $200.
