Chordiant Presales Engineer
Demonstrated 5 years of high level presales experience - you are an
achiever. You have demonstrated a strong relationship with clients and
the
sales team. Alpha type person who achieves results.
Strong desire to be part of a North America wide solutions team, means
demanding travel. 100% time on the road - no exceptions.
ROLE DEFINED AS: PreSales Technical Architect, Supporting our Sales
team as
they work to close new business, and coding 'quick turn-around'
projects to
help our Sales force create successful customer demos, read on.
In this role you MUST possess not only solid development skills, but
also:
Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate
technical ideas clearly, effectively and convincingly, in a
presentation
format to an audience of potential customers.
A desire to get much closer to the customer than most developers ever
get,
including heavy travel (75-100%, mostly to east coast customers) and
technical presentations where you are responsible for presenting the
development work you've coded. Although our east coast offices are in
Manchester NH, you can be be based in your home, and be located
anywhere
near a major airport so long as you are OK with the travel to our
mainly
east coast customers.
A willingness to leverage your development skills in support of a
Pre-Sales
organization. The development you will do in this role is not part of a
product development effort. You will be responsible for developing
quick-turnaround demo software designed to be presented to the customer
during the Sales process.
This role is designed to be most interesting to those Technical
Architects
who see themselves as capable, customer-facing partners in the sales
process. We are looking for people who love a challenge, and have a
nice
balance of technical and customer oriented skills.
Chordiant Software provides e-business infrastructure software that
enables
companies to offer their customers highly personalized sales and
marketing
programs, e-business services, and customer support across multiple

automated
telephony self-service systems, and customer service representatives in

products, services and customers), representation models for
constructing

Here's the technical details of what we need:
Key Technical Knowledge
Must have excellent technical knowledge of the following domains:
Design and development of J2EE/XML based enterprise back end components
based on Chordiant 5 Foundation incl. EJB, JTA, JMS, LDAP, JNDI
Design and development of Java-based enterprise front end components
based
on Chordiant 5 Advisor application elements incl. JSP, Java Servlet,
XML,
HTML, HTTP
Required Project Experience
Ideally, project background contains 1 or more of the following
technical
specialties
Large Business application experience for commercial applications (e.g.
Banking, Travel, Finance, Telecommunications or large defense
communications
systems)
Large application defined as: 100+PCs, 2+servers in different physical
locations.
Computer - Telephony Integration in call centers 100+ users or greater,
networked hardware systems such as ACDs (telephone switches), VRUs
(voice
response unit--voice mail)
An ideal candidate would bring experience supporting a Pre-Sales or
Sales
group at an enterprise software company, whose products solved a
customer's
CTI (Computer Telephony Integration), or Call Center, or Enterprise
Marketing Management problems. Although this type of experience is very
helpful, it is not an absolute requirement.
IMMEDIATE NEED IN BOTH UTILITIES AND TELCO VERTICALS
Travel: Like all customer-facing positions at Chordiant, in this role
you
should expect to work in various locations within the US performing
on-site
activities at our clients. These roles require you to be at client
during
the work-w , so you should be comfortable with 100% travel. You
should
also live close enough to a major airport that travel is easily
accomplished. Currently, the majority of our clients are on the east
coast,
so preference will be given to candidates currently residing in the
eastern
United States. 100% means being on-site at the customer's facility
Monday
through Friday, then flying home for the w end.
