| As part of a dynamic technical support team the Application Engineer
will be
providing expert technical support for the leading edge product lines
to
both our external customers.
The successful candidate must be willing to travel to customer sites
in Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include assisting major customers in the development
of complex
technical products with embedded microprocessor software; presenting
solutions,
recommendations and technical training to external customers; providing
ongoing
technical support to customers using certain devices; working with
design teams
to provide customer feedback on new products and features; preparing
technical demonstrations for trade shows and customer visits.
Required Skills and Experience:
Approximately eight years of experience in developing C/C++ code for
embedded 8-bit, 16-bit, micro-controllers (Mitsubishi, SH2/3), and
32-bit RISC
processor (Tensilica, ARM, MIPS) system software
Familiar with system software architecture, driver, real-time OS kernel
(Nucleus,
vxWorks), and software development process and environment
Expertise in debugging hardware and software bugs
Strong system design experience in hardware and software
Familiarity with debug tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers,
and in-circuit
emulators
Semiconductor / IC exposure with an emphasis in digital video and graphics
(VESA standard, DVI, NTSC, PAL, SDTV, HDTV, RGB, YCrCb/YPrPb), as
well as system peripheral controllers such as USB, Ethernet, etc; knowledge
of
video encoding and decoding components
Experience with graphics/video front projectors and TV product design
Background in application engineering and technical customer support
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer
Science
Japanese or Chinese language skills (speaking, reading, and writing)
will be a big plus
Proven ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables
Team and Customer focus
Analytical, thorough, resourceful and detail-oriented
