| Create software installation scripts (MSI and EXE) using a combination
of
predefined toolsets and processes (SMS Installer, Installshield, Wise
for
Windows Installer, Wise 9, and VBScript) based on customer requirements.
Understanding of the Windows Installer model including structure of
MSI
databases. Proven experience and understanding of VBScript and related
technologies including structure and use of COM objects, windows scripting
host (WSH) and windows management instrumentation (WMI). Understanding
of .NET software installation technologies including the GAC, .DLL
isolation,
and managed applications is considered an asset.
Perform individual testing and validation using standard scripts, as
well as
providing input and feedback to continually improve testing scripts
as new
issues are discovered. Use approved processes and tools to manage
day-to-day activities, implement improvements and to assist in problem
r
esolution.
Ability to work well under pressure, including tight deadlines and
managing
several tasks concurrently with shifting priorities. Communicate effectively
with all necessary groups including local coordinator/team lead, external
customers, quality assurance and other internal service teams providing
service to the customer.
May require shift work to accommodate global client needs, as well
as
extended working hours. Enter all packages created into CIS and/or
customer tracking systems. Perform quality assurance on software packages
based on predetermined testing scripts.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
. Large global enterprise account experience.
. Practical experience in software packaging including Windows Installer
. Interpreting and writing VBScript using varying custom and standard
components
. Strong technical background in diverse operating system environments
and deployment tools ie. SMS, Microsoft Win/OS, Web.
. Superior communication skills, able to deal with broad concepts.
. Practical understanding and experience of Strategic Outsource contracts
and industry atmosphere.
. Bilingual in English and one or more of the following: French, Kanji,
Mandrin,
Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German
