| This position requires a self-motivated, result-oriented, fast learning
and creative individual, who is
responsible for building functional layers of our clients application.
The position involves doing analysis
of functional requirements followed by the design and implementation
of the system
components from workflow driven to the real time to algorithms.
This position will be reporting to the VP Production Development.
The successful candidate must have a strong programming background
in C++ and Visual Basic
in the Microsoft Windows environment as well as a working experience
with SQL
(MS SQL Server and Oracle). Experience with Windows CE development
would be an asset.
Exposure to the current Web tools and technologies (Web Services, HTML,
XML, XSLT) and
understanding of the thin-client and service-oriented architecture
will be essential for future
development assignments. Knowledge of the transit industry or scheduling
and routing domain
is also an asset.
The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal and problem
solving skills to work
effectively within a team. Effective communication skills are essential
in this position, as well as your
ability to listen to the client's needs and understand their requirements
for the product
features and user interface. This position may involve occasional
travel.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpretative skills to understand and relate design requirements
- Works effectively in a team environment and independently
- Good work ethics
- MC Visual C++ specialization
- Multithreading and performance optimization techniques
- SQL, ODBC in MS SQL and Oracle
- Practical multi-tier architecture experience
- Knowledge of HTMK, XML and XSL transformation would be an asset
- Visual Basic
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science
- Extensive C++ programming experience
- Working knowledge of SQL

- Microsoft Windows operating systems (NT4, 2000, XP)
- Microsoft Visual Studio 6 or .NET
- Relational Database 9MS SQL Server 7, Oracle 8)
