An experienced and proven data centre manager is required to directly
oversee
the provision of a current, secure, responsive, maintainable, recoverable,
and
cost effective computing environment that meets the organization's
needs. In
addition to directing the development of policies, procedures and standards
for
the delivery of services, you'll also be responsible for planning and
delivery of
necessary capacity for critical platforms. Your team will provide critical
technical
support for the company's corporate DRP and BCP capability.With 10
years of
data processing experience including 5 years of managing and provisioning

support of a national computing environment, you have a sound understanding

of advanced IT security technologies, technical risk management and

mitigation practices. Data communications and security, networking
hardware
and software and operating systems from mainframe to desktop, are well
within
your areas of knowledge and expertise. You've implemented infrastructure

recovery processes and procedures before and understand how to safeguard

the corporation's information technology assets. You are a skilled
communicator
and negotiator who has worked closely with clients in defining service

requirements and has negotiated with vendors to define successful working

relationships. Finally, you have the ability to lead by example, and
of capably
managing and developing a staff of technical systems professionals
focused
on providing excellent customer service.


Additional Requirements
-Extensive experience with IT system management processes such as change,

problem, configuration management etc. (knowledge of ITIL an asset)

-Extensive knowledge of Infrastructure operations, networking and security

technologies
-Strong knowledge of capacity planning methodologies and concepts
-Ability and willingness to work with others to ensure capacity requirements

are satisfied in a timely manner.
-Strong customer service focus
-Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
-Knowledge of disaster recovery concepts, practices and technologies

-Strong knowlege of capacity planning methologies and concepts
-Sound knowledge of security concepts and practices
-Ability to lead and motivate a talented technical development team

-The ability to plan and organize effectively
-Knowledge of the property & casualty industry--in particular claims
or
underwriting processes are desired
-Minimum 3 years college or university degree/diploma in Computer Science
