| We s a dynamic results oriented Senior Business Analyst, seasoned
in
business intelligence applications. In this role, you will build upon
our
past data warehouse successes to deliver expanded capabilities
throughout the corporation.
As a senior member of the Access to Information team you will:
-work directly with a variety of business areas to understand current
information challenges
-work with Application Architecture to define a information strategy
for The Dominion
-gather and document business requirements
-work with a development team and business representatives to
deliver key solutions
-apply modeling tools and establish guidelines for their usage
-mentor junior business analysts
You are a seasoned business analyst with:
-a keen analytic bent
-superb interviewing and requirements definition skills
-superior communication abilities
-excellent data and process analysis skills
-the ability to plan and organize effectively.
-strong problem solving and decision making skills
-the ability to learn quickly regardless of topic, (e.g a new business
area,
a new development process, or documentation tool, a quality
assurance practice)
-a commitment to delivering quality work
-a flexible and service oriented "can do "attitude
Your past experience includes:
- defining and managing project scope boundaries
- gathering requirements for large and complex projects
- defining test strategies and test plans
- data warehouse, business information or large corporate reporting
projects
- experience with one or more modeling tools
- experience in data analysis and reporting tools, preferably Cognos
- experience in various development methodologies
- a demonstrated ability in user interface requirements and design.
- a demonstrated ability in testing & documentation techniques.
- success as a team player as well and on individual assignments
- data mapping
Ideally you have:
- Knowledge of the Rational Unified Process.
- Familiarity with Oracle Designer
- Experience or knowledge of UML
- Experience in mentoring junior business analysts
- Strong SQL skills
