title: "Multinationals favor Europe over Asia"
by Francesco Guerrera in NY and Alan Beattie in London

Financial Times, Sept 18, 2006, page 2

Quote first two paragraphs:

"Multinational companies are favouring Europe over Asia when expanding
abroad--a sign that they want to be close to customers and suppliers
rather than simply tap into cheap labor and plants, according to a new
study of outward investment."

"The surprising findings of the survey by IBM's consulting arm, to be
released today, suggest that the recent boom in outsourcing of
manufacturing and services to emerging markets such as China and India may
be abating."

We still have 300 million go to bed hungry every night.
Our infrastructure, helath and education system has broken down.
Corruption eats away like a cancer.
The richeg get richer and the poor poorer.
Please stop with this crap about India's economy grwoing fed to us by
the Westren media and FIIs.

It is a big challenge for India. Most of the population must be
involved in the economy. Otherwise it stays like that. Worse, look at
Mexico. The US corporation are outsourcing now from Mexico what had
been outsourced from the US. Mexicans are as poor as they have been
before. The same might happen with India as well. Call centers and
programming are not without limits and not without competition and the
price Indian companies are charging is going up. You would better
create something for yourself.

Why is it that you are interested in only poor Indians? I think there are
four or five times as many people who are equally bad off.

Go ask Kamal Pra...he is an Indian and in India now and he thinks
things over there are much nicer than things in the USA, which he says,
essentially, is an evil place full of Nazis and red-necks, and our
currency is worthless.

Otherwise, you have my sympathy if you are concerned about all of the
poverty and ignorance in the world. But, what do you want me to do about
it? Shall I sell my house and take the money in an airplane and drop it
all over India? The USA gave $billions in foreign aid over decades and
probably most of it all ended up in the pockets of people who were
already well-off.
