CHENNAI: DaimlerChrysler, the German luxury car maker, is planning to increase its global outsourcing from India.
‘‘We are outsourcing components, engineering and IT services from India and it is making double digital growth. We are planning to increase our global outsourcing from India,’’ said Dr Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO of DaimlerChrylsler India.
The company on Saturday unveiled the latest edition of the S-class and the all-new M-class vehicles for the first time in the South Indian market at the Mercedes-Benz showcase in Chennai.
The brand showcase featured the complete range of Mercedes-Benz cars in India - the debutante S-class, the E-class and the C-class, as well as the completely built imported range: the SLK-class and the M-class. Also featured was the Rs 5.20 crore Maybach.
After unveiling the latest luxury cars, Dr Aulbur said,‘‘The idea of the brand showcase is to share our enthusiasm about growth and direction of the company. We are committed to offer our customers the latest products in the least possible time.

rowing at a CAGR of 17 percent in India.
The newly launched S-class is priced at Rs 81 lakh to Rs 1.25 crore and the M-class Rs 56 lakh. During the last 10 years of Indian operations, the company has sold 15,000 cars in the Indian market.
