The main function of the work group is a product called Business Contact Manager (BCM), which is a managed add-in for Outlook. Our first release went out with Office 11 (in Pro and Small Business Edition sku’s). Specifically my team is responsible for all UI and supporting code within BCM. The group is currently in the planning stages for our V3 release.
Experience in .NET WinForms,
C# and/or Outlook object model much preferred.
Previous experience at Microsoft preferred.
Experience with Win32/UI programming preferred.
Other skills that would be beneficial are:
• SQL experience: create/run queries, create use stored procedures, database design theory.
• An eye for UI design and usability / experience in building/designing end-user UI much preferred.
The people in question need to be able to work within a small team, designing and implementing new features – sometimes alone, other times in co-ordination with others. There will also be much work in upgrading and modifying existing code (C# & VB.NET). All aspects of the position may require co-ordination with Project Managers in resolving issues and defining features. There will be a focus on top level user facing code and UI design/implementation.
Deliverables: Design and production of features + fixing bugs. Specific deliverables will be ad-hoc through out the contract.
Timeframe: I expect that the contract would run for a full year.
There will be need for overtime as it demands but I would not want to rely on it. Minimal to medium amounts of overtime.
The dev group here is extremely friendly and close-knit. We typically eat lunch together and occasionally have social activities out of work - CSG’s have always been included. I am looking for a strong programmer type but with social skills still, the position will require working with others often.
Length of assignment: I expect the contract would run for a full year.
