Spanish or Portuguese BILINGUAL - Job Functions:
Banking/Brokerage, Finance - The Raza Development Fund, Inc.
("RDF"), is sing candidates for the position of Loan Officer
for its Phoenix, Arizona office. RDF is the largest Latino
Community Development Financial Institution in the United States,
and a support corporation of the National Council of La Raza.
Loan products offered at RDF include pre-development,
construction, rehabilitation, lines of credit, acquisition and
mini-permanent loans for charter schools, community health
centers, program centers and affordable housing. Duties and
Responsibilities: The Loan Officer's primary responsibility is
the evaluation of loan transactions, including the adequacy of
the credit and the collateral within the assigned territory, for
purposes of assessing and mitigating loan risk, including new
applications and existing loans. • Prescreening and structuring
of loan requests for general conformance to program guidelines
and business objectives • Issuing Letters of Interest to
prospective Borrowers • Oversight of the research, verification
and analysis of final Due Diligence materials and 3rd party
reports • Risk analysis of due diligence materials, including
financial statements • Preparation of Loan Request Memoranda and
presentation to Loan Committee • Issuing Loan Commitment Letters
to Borrowers • Analysis of Loan Risk Rating and recommendation
for Loan Loss Reserves • Coordination and support of the loan
closing • Management of assigned loan portfolio to ensure
compliance with loan covenants Qualifications and Skills:
Applicants should have a B.S., B.A. or equivalent degree from an
accredited college or university in the area of finance,
economics, banking or real estate. Candidates with formal credit
training and a minimum of five (5) years prior experience
underwriting commercial rea
l estate loans are preferred. Applicants must be knowledgeable
and experienced about all aspects of loan evaluation, and should
demonstrate an understanding of commercial loan programs and
documentation. Applicants should be proficient in the use of
spreadsheet modeling and word processing applications and should
be able to demonstrate excellent business analytical and writing
skills by producing samples of prior work. Applicants should be
prepared for periodic travel nationwide. Candidates with
bilingual skills in both English and Spanish are preferred.
