Maybe iam in the wrong forum but if I look through the threats then I think I am on the right place to ask my question.

Iam a 30 year old 3d designer in Maya and 3d studio this is great can make nice 3D pictures.

But I want more
I want to make nice adventure games in my free time, but if I see what the programming world has to offer that is toooo much.

Can someone help me to make a good choice for wich programming software is the best (or to start with) to accomplish to make my 3d pictures REALLL, maybe C++?

I have no knowledge of programming but iam ready to go to the evening school again.
