Matlab only supports GPIB when you use its Instrument Control Toolbox.
This is the Mathworks GPIB page that explains the details:
www.mathworks.com/products/instrume...rtedio7141.html

Matlab works with GPIB drivers from Agilent, IOTech, Measurement
Computing, NI, and others.

To figure out how to use Matlab with Agilent and Tektronix instruments,
Rs-232 serial devices, and other equipment, check out:
www.mathworks.com/products/supportedio.html?prodCode=IC

Tektronix supports Matlab for GPIB using Instrument Control Toolbox ...
here is an application brief from Tektronix.com showing how you can do
it:

I hope this helps.
