Hi,

I'm looking to source software for bug tracking/issue tracking in the
following areas:

- project management
- configuration mangement
- development
- support

Basically I'm looking for one s/w package that could meet the needs for
the areas of project management, support and development. Its for a
small company so one package that could be used to perform the core
activities in each of these areas is perferable to three separate ones
which perform all in each. Cost is an issue and, unfortunatley, its got
to run on windows. Have seen a product called eventum by mysql which
may do the trick but would appreciate any guidance the community could
offer?

Thanks,

G

Is web-based a possibility? There are many free open-source options
available that can run on Windows with Apache. Unfortunately I don't
know of one solution that performs all of those functions, but I can
recommend:

dotproject for project management
bugzilla for bug tracking
webrt for support issue tracking
CVSNT for version control

Hello,

Add MANTIS to the list. That's what we are using in my company for
issue tracking.

Cheers,

Hi,

I can certainly recommend Bugzilla. We've used it for test tracking,
workflow, certain PM tasks and operational support management, for both
internal & client facing access we've found it to be very good and
nicely configrable.

Rgds,

Richard.

G,

I have used Bugzilla at almost every firm that I have worked at. The
interface usually needs a bit tweaking as the out of the box UI is a
bit confusing and has bad flow. It is though the easiest system to use
and administer.

Here's the link to the Windows install

Hi,

(btw: your name is missing :-) )

I also use mantis and not so much bugzilla:
but here is what I recently found:
a virtual appliance for bugzilla with VMWare:
http://deskzilla.com/vbugzilla.html

ready configured and runnable with just a doubleclick in a window.
I guess for all of us good to use

you.

I use Serio http://www.seriosoft.com/

It's more geared up for helpdesks but works fine for internal testing as
well and of course you'll need something once your application goes live
and real users log problems...
