Call for Participation
6th Annual International Conference on COTS-Based Software
Systems (ICCBSS 2007)
Theme: Systems' Composition and Interoperability: A World in Transition.
February 26 - March 2, 2007
The Banff Center, Banff, Alberta, Canada
Web: http://www.iccbss.org/

*** All inquiries to iccbss-2007@sei.cmu.edu ***

Organized by the European Software Institute, Spain; the National Research
Council, Canada; and the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon
University, U.S.A. and sponsored by IEEE Computer Society

Successful integration and interoperation of components, including
commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software, and existing systems has
become essential to creating and maintaining responsive systems that
meet business and mission goals. Very few organizations can afford
to build such large systems of systems from scratch.

For 2007, ICBSS has expanded its focus to include issues of inter-
operability that have become critical for systems of systems
acquisition and development. This expanded focus provides
opportunities to explore new problems and technologies, such as
service oriented architectures, network-centric operations, and
use of free and open source software (FOSS).

ICCBSS 2007 provides a forum in which researchers and practitioners from
industry, government, and academia can gather to exchange ideas about current
best practices and promising research directions in systems integration and
interoperability, including the creation and maintenance of systems that
incorporate COTS software products.

The conference will address constructing, acquiring, deploying, and
sustaining capabilities that require interoperation among a variety
of systems and components. Topics will include:
.. COTS products, system of systems and service-oriented architectures
.. Interoperability requirements, architectures, and technologies
.. Development, testing, maintenance, and evolution of system of systems

The ICCBSS 2007 program will include two panel discussions,
three keynote addresses, four tutorials, four workshops, and
21 presentations of papers. For full information about the
agenda and program, visit the ICCBSS 2007 Web site:

Important Dates:
Dec. 5, 2006 - final submission for presentation slides
Dec. 15, 2006 - final sumission of presentation materials
