This position will lead a dev team in designing and building an
"Internet Scale" service for Integrated Communications. "Internet
Scale" means hundreds of millions of users, petabytes worth of data,
and thousands of machines in a giant distributed system. The system
will rank among the world's largest and most cutting edge data
centers.* Distributed storage and application level data redundancy and
replication on top of cheap commodity components* Generalized Storage -
Email, Voice, Documents, etc.* Efficient Search Algorithms* Intelligent
Agents* Highly optimized I/O patterns* Synchronization between a
service and multiple clients and mobile devices* Management of 1000's
of machines in what amounts to a giant distributed computer*
Communications integration -- Email, Instant Messaging, SMS, Voice,
etc.

This position requires a deep understanding of distributed computing
concepts such as: network protocols, network programming,
multi-threaded programming, performance, reliability, scalability, and
storage technology like databases and file systems. It also requires an
understanding of core internet technologies such as: HTTP, XML, SOAP.
Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of C/C++ and some experience
in a garbage collected language. Candidates must have strong writing
skills. In addition to strong technical skills, we require a candidate
who is a strong leader.

Candidates must have strong verbal communication skills and the ability
to "see ahead of the curve." The candidate should have a proven track
record managing or leading others - We are looking for someone who
not only can drive a team through a full development cycle, but also
someone who will mentor and grow younger engineers. The candidate
should have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
