Compiling expect

Just downloaded the source for Expect, and having a few problems. Any good
reference point for issues?
The instructions are to first run configure in the source directory. When I
do I get some errors:
Invalid configuration: (my host name) Machine: (my host name) not
recognized.
I'm running HP-UX 11.11 on a pa-risc machine, Expect is 5.43
I also get:
configure: warning: Can't find Tcl configuration definitions.
I have the Tcl code in the same directory as Expect. I also tried and
downloaded the ActiveTcl binaries, with the same problems.
So, any good src for problems in installing and compiling Expect?
