vwnc 7.6 install problem

I've recently downloaded the 7.6 .iso cd image and successfully
installed under Windows 2000 from the automatic startup dialogs,
however when I attempt installation under Mandriva 2008.0 using the
"installUnix" script in  a konsole  -- nothing happens !

- no error messages ! - nothing ! just a return to system prompt.

I've also tried using "su root" so file permissions "should'nt" be the
problem.

Has anybody successfully installed 7.6 under mandriva ?
