Job Description


This position will be part of a team responsible for improving the
quality of an internally developed Mutual Fund Customer Service
application. Specific assignments may include enhancements as well as
maintenance and support, as prioritized by business needs. Development
takes place in a highly collaborative environment that places value on
effective communication skills. Responsibilities will include
programming, analysis, and testing, primarily in Windows 2000 and
Visual Age Smalltalk.

A minimum of two to five years experience using Smalltalk in an
application development area is required. Previous use of an OO
development methodology is also required. Use of an OO modeling tool
and experience with the design of client server and n-tier systems is
desired. Experience with relational databases is also desired.
Exposure to Internet technologies, including application servers,
J2EE, and JAVA is a plus. Knowledge of WindowBuilder Pro, Envy, (or
other source code management tools), Rational Rose, (or other UML
modeling tools), SQL, Visual Basic, .NET, and/or HTML is helpful. A
college degree in a related field and general knowledge of the
securities/mutual fund industry is preferred.
