I didn't know that the little icon accepted a left click, although I
used right-click on the title bar for some time (which does the same thing).

not just the left-icon nor the title-bar, but the *whole* cmd prompt window
[at least on my win/xp] accepts right-click giving me immediately the
select-all option, after that just hit enter and the screen content is in
clipboard, and as a third step just paste it into notepad

the only drawback is that this is not available in full-screen, only in
windowed mode

once upon a time... around the late 80's... there was a TSR program
named Sidekick...
can check my old 5.25" diskettes files and try to find it...
